I know some people saw it coming, but I say Mike Hampton. He pitched horrible at the beginning of the year. It looks like he'll come around like Ortiz, though.

Yeah, as much as I love Nomar, he doesn't deserve an all-star bid. He has played like 20 games this season. And he was leading at shortstop for a while when he wasn't even playing.
The all-star game is all about teams with larger fan bases and big name players. People like Sheets probably will be snubbed to Roger Clemens to get in.

Well, streak's over. And it just had to be the Marlins who beat them. Now the Braves only go up a game on the Phillies and the Expos in the NL East

Boston is my fav AL team as well, because I love it when they beat the Yankees and they draft a lot of people from Georgia Tech like Nomar and Varitek. They picked up Matt Murton last year. He was from the same town as me and he went to my church.

Rafeal Furcal is arguably the fastest player in baseball, but Cox doesn't play for steals so he doesn't get a chance too often. He did lead the league in triples last season, though.

Oh, I forgot to post on this thread, but you probably know that my fav. team is:
The 12-time consectutive NL East Champion Atlanta Braves(even if they play like crap in the playoffs!)

Last year's playoffs were the greatest. I got to see Smoltz face off against Sosa and Sosa took him to the wall and the Braves won(Kerry Wood was just lights out again in game 7,though). I got to see Pedro Martinez beat up and old man and a fight at Fenway(maybe it was Yankee stadium). And the extra inning thriller with Aaron Boone ending it all. Then Pudge tagged the Giant baserunnr out at home to win. And there was the whole deal about the fan stealing the out from Alou which "made the Cubs lose". And in the end the underdog Marlins won the world series and I got to see the Yankees lose.
What a postseason!

Nobody knows anything about not getting run support that Horacio Ramirez doesn't know. He got caught up in that 9 error game in Colorado and only got like 2 or 3 runs. He's pitched as good as anybody this year even if he's on the DL right now.

How in the world does Nomar lead the voting at shortstop when he hasn't played a game all year? Its like a popularity contest. I've always thought that it was about the kind of season they were having.
I if Johnny Estrada(ATL catcher and rookie) isn't an all-star, nobody is. He leads the majors with a .538 avg with runners in scoring postion. I think thats amazing that he can tune it up a notch like that. And he hasn't set a name for himself like Nomar.

Alright so here's how it went:
The Braves were losing to the NL's worst, Montreal Expos, 6-3 in the bottom of the ninth with 2 outs, but there was 2 men on. I saw the ball bounce off Nick Green's bat toward me in left field! I thought it was going to drop, but it traveled 2 rows behind me to tie the game! Then everybody still going crazy, J. D. Drew comes up and hits another one to right field for a walkoff win! What a comeback! (I had my rally cap on the whole time)

The sad thing is the Marlins have won more world titles than us over that period.

Roger Clemens. Partly because he played for the Yankees. And because of all that stuff he did with Mike Piazza.

Yeah, my Braves are playing horrible right now. I just hope it doesn't last all year.

They got new players and stadium. This is the year they came together. They just won a series against ATL and keep on winning.
