It's been talked about for so long I don't want to get started. I can't stand Sammy "Strikeout" Sosa. He never hits when the team needs hits. He strikes out too many times, pulls everything for homeruns, and acts like everything is so wonderful and he loves everyone, give me a break. And he goes out with a corked bat and explains that he uses it during batting practice for fan pleasure. Give me a break. Just like Mark McGwire I cannot stand him, and then the whole McGwire vs. Sammy homerun record chase, the league made them act like best friends to help lift baseball. I remember them smackin' fists and crap acting like they were such good friends when they weren't, Sammy is a fake. And then having to listen to him try and talk is enough to make you drive into the river. "Sammy Sosa love baseball, Sammy Sosa love everything in the world and everybody." Barry Bonds is not that bad, if the media would just leave him be and not ask him the same damned questions 10 times in a row. i agree with everything you wrote. barry gets a bad rap just because of the media. the player i hate the most is a tie between eric karros and eric gagne. by no coicidence, they are both dodgers. karros beacuse he is a just a stiff who represents the dodgers to me. gagne beacuse he is a dirty french candian who is grossly overrated by a terrible stat.

Carlos Beltran. 5 tool player who can hit anywhere in the lineup.

the angels are sick in the mind this year. they have that team unity "spark" and speed that the red sox and yankees don't have. i think they will catch fire in september a la 2002 and win the the AL and world series.

Jason Schmidt. He was dominate last year, led the league in ERA and K/9 IP and was hurt for most of the year.
correction: Prior led the league in K/9. But, Schmidt led the league in win % and WHIP. So leading the league in runs (ERA) wins (Win %) and baserunners (WHIP) IMO is why he is clearly the best pitcher.

I am a Giants fan and I personally don't really like Barry as a person. However, I love him as a player. If this was any other guy, people wouldn't care they would stop the game, but since it's Barry they just want an escuse to bad rap him.

As much as I hate to admit it as a Giants fan, I think that the Padres are going to win the NL West. They added Giles, Payton and Hernandez while getting Nevin healthy and Kahlil Greene is a stud. They also got back Hoffman in the bullpen while also upgrading their roation with Wells and Hitch wang and a healthy Adam Eaton.

i remember in little league once i threw a shutout. once i went like 5-5 in a game in little league. in pony my best game was against the best pitcher in the league. i somehow went 3 for 4. none were extra base hits, but they were ALL line shots. i was seeing the ball so well. it goes extra innings and i'm on 3rd base as the go ahead run. there is a passed ball and i run... out by 5 feet.

Before the year i thought the best 4 teams in the AL by far would be the A's, Angels, Red Sox and Yankees and so far this has held true. Personally, i think these 4 teams are better than any NL teams. One of these great teams isn't gonna make the playoffs. Which team do you think it will be?
I have to go with the A's. The Red Sox and Yankees are greatly aided by games vs. the D-Rays, Orioles and Blue JAys whereas the west teams have to play the M's and suprising Rangers. I just love the Angels line up and their ability to pretty much hold onto a lead after the 6th inning with that unbelieveable bullpen.
