We start out, with September 11th. The screen is black but we can hear the planes crash. The screen turns on and we see peoples reactions. We then get Bush who is reading to kids when it happens, a agent whispers 'were under attack' and Bush sits there looking confused for 7 minutes.
We then get to see Bush on vacation, fishing, sawing trees, playing with his dog, golfing. Moore tells us that Bush went on vacation 40% of the time before Sept. 11th. We see Bush asked why hes on vacation and he stumbles for 3 minutes telling a reporter that he does work outside of DC.
We see airplanes grounded, Ricky Martin too. Then we find out 40 some people, all Saudies are flown out during this no fly period. Even some Bin Ladens, some of whoem no-doubt still talk to Usama. We let them go.
For the next 30 minutes we get hammered by Bush/Oil/Saudi. Moore makes great points and connects the dots showing Bush got money from Saudi's too start his useless oil drilling company. We get a amazing view of how connected they are, the theater is shocked.
We see Ashcroft and Rice lie over and over about terror meetings, we see them act clueless about a "Usama determined to attack in US" report. So we cant bame them...
We see how Bush dodged Military service.
We see how security in airports have incresed, we see a mothers breasr milk thrown out, and a man that can only bring 2 lighters on board. We find out that a Fresno peace group was infiltraited by a government agent, the people noticed he was gone and noticed he died in a car crash but had him under a different name. The police had infiltraited a PEACE group that just held signs. We hear about an old man talking about the war and Bush in the gym, and when he gets home FBI come to his house to ask questions....hmm wierd.
We see the bogus terror alert system, and how they use it for fear, this can be taken different ways but I believe Moores view. We hear the WMD talk over and over again, then we see the bombs blast in Iraq (the best Iraq scenes I have ever seen.) We see people die.
Then Moore takes us to his hometown Flint. Where around half of the people are unemployed. We see army recruiters going to the bad parts of town to recruit kids that are probably not donig well. The recruiters go up and harrass people to join because the military is desperate for soldiers. These recruiters offer to pick up people to go register, they ask a man if he wants to join, "No, I have a wife and a little kid," and the recruiter says, "the more reason to enlist." The theater gasps.
We meet a military mom who is a flag waver, then after more Iraq we cut to her crying because her son had died. She reads a letter saying that he thinks it's all a waste of time and that he hates the people that allowed this to happen. We cut to a young black service men outside the capitol who got back from Iraq. He says he won't go back to kill more poor people. He says he will go to jail then go back. He thinks it is a waste of time.
Moore finds out that only 1 congressman has a son in Iraq and then waits for them to come out and he hands out Army pamplets to them, "Well sir, you voted for war, you should do all you can to support our country."....The theater laughs as Senators blow past Moore, some talk to him and refuse.
The movie ends reflecting the start to the finish and wraps up nicely. I look and notice many women crying,(My mom and dad included, my dad was sickened by the war images, many of which reminded him of Vietnam.)
The movie ended with a funniest Bush quote of all-time, which i'm not telling. There are also no footage of prisioner abuse, that rumor is false. There are just some soldiers posing with a captured terrorist who was not abused and some soldiers giggled because it looks like a dead Iraqi had a erection.
I left out the funny parts so I wouldn't ruin it. The movie is sad, halarious, shocking, and a hell of a good time. I think everyone should see it, Conservatives and Liberals.
The whole theater gave it a huge standing ovation, even the republicans ahead of us cheered.
