Registration to this forum is free! We do insist that you abide by the rules and policies detailed below. If you agree to the terms, please check the 'I agree' checkbox and press the 'Register' button below. If you would like to cancel the registration, click here to return to the forums index.
Although the administrators and moderators of Baseball Utopia Forums will attempt to keep all objectionable messages off this forum, it is impossible for us to review all messages. All messages express the views of the author, and neither the owners of Baseball Utopia, nor Proboards Ltd. (developers of message boards like this one) will be held responsible for the content of any message.
By agreeing to these rules, you warrant that you will not post any messages that are obscene, vulgar, sexually-orientated, hateful, threatening, or otherwise violative of any laws.
The owners of Baseball Utopia Forums reserve the right to remove, edit, move or close any thread for any reason.
Baseball Utopia Forum rules that you need to know about_:
Usage of the forum indicates that you have read and understood and are in acceptance of these rules.
Please make sure to keep the total size of all pictures in your Avatars below 10,000 bytes.
It takes you at least 30 seconds to type a post, meaning you have plenty of time to think about what you are saying, therefore you will always be held accountable for whatever comes up on the screen.

I've noticed some things going on in the forum lately that I do not like and I've decided to put an end to them.
From now on all pictures posted with personal attacks in them will be treated just as a personal attack would. Remember that the rules state that personal attacks are listed as an offense that can result in immediate banishment, not just a warning box.
These new rules are especially geared at the pictures from Ebaum's World. From now on posting any picture from Ebaum's World will result in at least a warning box and banishment if it contains a personal attack.
Anything regarded as Newbie bashing will now also be considered a personal attack and could result in banishment. I've noticed veterans of this forum developing a high and mighty attitude lately and that has to stop. I want this to be a friendly environment for everyone so that no one feels like they need to lurk just because they don't wont to go through the newbie hBOOTYle.
Finally, (We'll call this the Clarett rule) remember to constrict one topic to one thread. If there is a topic on page 1 or 2 regarding, for example, Clarett, post whatever you have to say about him in that thread. I don't want to see the same topic worded 5 different ways anymore.

Discretion has now been given to all moderators to delete any off topic thread that they reason offers no beneficial discussion to the forum. I do expect this rule will be enforced lightly as it is not our intent to kill Ot: discussion, but merely regulate it.
If your post or thread is deleted, we had a reason. Any thread or post that litters the forum with “Why was my post/thread deleted?” will result in a warning level increase. If you really want to know, PM a moderator, but don’t put it on the forum.
Finally, because of the recent increase in cynical threads boasting of post counts, all such threads are prohibited. Any thread or post deemed to; be directly used to inflate one’s post count, pat ones self on the back for achieving a certain post count, or ridicule someone over their post count, or contribute nothing to the forum, may result in that person’s post count being reset to zero and a warning level increase.
We are striving for quality over quantity on this forum and that is why these rules have been erected.

Any thread that is off topic (anything unrelated to baseball) must use the prefix Ot: If this prefix does not exist, the thread will be deleted.
Polls may only be used for baseball topics. Any poll made relating to anything other than baseball will be deleted. (I also hold discretion to delete any thread that I think is an attempt to abuse these limits).
Also I am going to limit members to 1 baseball poll per 24 hours.
Finally: Thread titles must clearly state the intent/content of the thread. No more misleading or inadequate thread titles will be tolerated.
Any failure to comply with these rules will result in warning and eventual banishment.
I apologize to the members who don't abuse these tools, but I'm afraid it must be done.

Any of the following violations will cause you to receive a warning. If you already have a warning level and again violate any of the following items, you will be banned from the forum.
1. Do not post advertisements or solicitations for business or websites (personal or otherwise). Any posts of commercial nature will be removed. If you aren’t sure on whether or not it’s acceptable, ask one of the moderators before you post it.
2. Do not post chain letters or pyramid schemes of any sort. Any posts of this nature will be removed.
3. Do not post anything inflammatory with the intention of provoking arguments and antagonizing other posters.
4. Do not post anything unlawful, e.g. information that could be used for software or music piracy, pBOOTYword hacking, cracking, Internet attacks, illegal drug use, etc. You are responsible for the content of your postings, and may be held liable for what you say. Any posts containing information or links about such illegal activities or any other material violating the law will be removed.
5. Do not post anything sexual above a PG-13 level. This is not the place for that kind of stuff. Also when posting pictures, they must contain absolutely no nudity. If the picture couldn’t be printed in Maxim, it can’t be posted or linked to here.
6. Respect of everyone’s opinion is required. Agreement is not required, but respect it at least. Any attack on a personal opinion will generate a warning level. (Example. “That is the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard.”)
7. Do not cuss for the sake of cussing. A post littered with cuss words will get you a warning level. If you feel you have to cuss, just asterisk out the word like this, f***.
8. Do not use all caps when you type. A SENTENCE LIKE THIS IS NOT ONLY HARD TO READ, BUT IS ALSO A HINDRANCE TO OTHER BOARD MEMBERS.
Any of the following violations will cause you to be immediately banned from the forum.
1. Do not post any material that is abusive, defamatory, infringing, obscene, pornographic/nudity, or otherwise offensive to other forum visitors. Posters are expected to act like mature adults, whether they are six or sixty years of age. Posters who cannot do so will be banned. If you think that it might be construed as immature, don’t post it. Examples of what will get you banned. If someone on the board posts, “I think Auburn is a bad football team.” A proper disagreement will look like this. “Man I totally disagree with that, I think Auburn is great.” A post that will get you kicked off this forum will look like this. “You f***ing idiot, Auburn is the best team ever. Go crawl back in that hole you came out of.”<br>
2. No racial/sexist comments/slanders/slurs of any sort will be tolerated.
If you have been banned, it will be on you to request reinstatement to the board. Reinstatement is at our discretion.
More rules to make this forum a more enjoyable place to play.
1. Read the existing forum messages. The answer to your question might already be there, or maybe there's an ongoing discussion thread that you can join rather than starting a new thread. There is also a powerful Search feature built in to help you find answers.
2. Be descriptive in the subject line of your posts. Don't just put Help or Question or Frustrated or similar non-descriptive terms in the subject line. You increase your chances of getting a serious reply by entering a concise description of your topic.
3. Stick with one thread. If you have more information about a previous post of yours, add it to the original thread. Do not start a new thread as it will make it extremely hard to follow. The forum automatically moves every thread with a new message back to the top of the list.
4. If you see a post that is in violation of the forum rules stated above, you are encouraged to alert one of the moderators (Mr Tennessee, ViNSaNiTy15UnC9, or Kingssc) or PJ520. We will make every effort to respond within a reasonable amount of time and take appropriate action.
